I went to treatment because of my obsessive love for Apple products. They’ve helped me overcome my addiction. I now am okay with using both Apple and PC products.

Common Addictions

Do you have a drug abuse problem? You are not alone. In fact: When it comes to substance abuse, it costs the US over 600 million dollars every year. For a long time, there has been a strong stigma surrounding drug abuse. This is changing. We now know that drug addiction is a chronic and often relapsing disease. This is why treatment is important. A good treatment center knows how to approach this disease. Finding a good treatment center is the key to your long term recovery.
Alcohol abuse is a tricky thing. How do you know when you’re addicted to alcohol? If you drink alcohol as a way to cope with life or rely on it to make you feel better, you are at high risk for abusing alcohol. Ask yourself these questions: Do you feel guilty about drinking? Do your friends comment about your drinking habits? Have you had multiple problems with drinking and the law (like a DUI)? If you said yes to any of these questions, we encourage you to contact a rehab center specializing in alcoholism and detox treatment.
For most people, their addiction started with a doctor’s visit because of an injury or mental health issues. But, because some medications have psychoactive elements to them, they can easily be abused by patients. Here are some of the commonly abused prescription drugs: opioids, anti-depressants and stimulants. Some of these include: oxycodone, hydromorphone, diazepam and amphetamines. It’s important to find a good drug treatment center that are experts in prescription drug abuse.

Treatment Programs

The 12 Step Program was originally made for Alcoholics Anonymous program participants. Out of it’s success and popularity, it was adapted for other addiction like cocaine, meth, sex marijuana and more. Some of the 12 steps include: 1. Admitting we are powerless over alcohol, believe in a higher power, make amends to people in our live we have hurt and more. The book that is follow is called the “Big Book” by many program members. Most recovery or rehab treatment centers use the 12 step program as part of their method.
When you hit rock bottom in your drug addiction, crying out to God is a natural response. In fact: Treatment like the 12 Step Program is centered around a “higher-power.” Faith based treatment often goes deeper into one’s specific religion like Christianity. If you have a strong religious background, finding a good Christian or other faith based treatment center is important to your long-term recovery.
If you are heavily addicted to drugs, then starting a drug and alcohol detox program is your first step. Joining a detox program in a safe environment is important. The first portion of detox, withdrawal, can be very intense and difficult. Withdrawal will depend on the intensity and type of your addiction. Not all rehab centers offer detox. Detox is only a part of full recovery. Finding a treatment center that offers detox and a full treatment program is important.
